16mm Film Workshop

  • Good Shepherd Studios 15a Davies Lane London, England, E11 3DR United Kingdom (map)

This 4-day workshop brought to you by The Film Files Club in collaboration with ARRI and Kodak will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create visually stunning films using 16mm film and cameras. In addition, a tour of the Kodak Film Lab at Pinewood Studios will be included.

The workshop will be hosted by Belgian Society of Cinematographers (SBC) member Patricia Lopes, an award-winning and internationally acclaimed Director of Photography with a wide range of experience in shooting with film and digital cameras for film, commercials, and music videos. Assisting Patricia will be Philippe Piron, camera assistant on James Bond's 'Die Another Day' (2002) and 'Mr. Nobody' (2009).

The workshop is divided into 4 days:

  • DAY 1 (26/04): A workshop will be held at ARRI Rental, covering both theory and practice on choosing the right film, loading and unloading a camera, and shooting on film. ARRI Rental will also provide camera packages for the entire workshop;

  • DAY 2 (28/04): Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own super short films using ARRI film cameras at Good Shepherd Studios. There is no need for pre-prepared scripts or treatments;

  • DAY 3 (29/04): Attendees will visit the Kodak Film Lab at Pinewood Studios;

  • DAY 4 (10/05): Attendees will screen their work at Good Shepherd Studios' cinema space, where they can invite friends, family, and collaborators.

All materials will be provided, including film and cameras.

The workshop will support all participants, regardless of skill level.

More details about dates, times, and other information will be emailed to each participant upon ticket purchase.
